may 19...healing prayer for Mother Earth

I'm posting this one now because we wont be home much today and I don't want to forget.  This is one of my favorite blessings.

Mother Earth is being assaulted by the destruction of our public and private forests, the pollution of our air, global warming, and the destruction of her streams, rivers, and oceans.  The only way we are going to overcome this assault is by making our own space more in tune with nature.  We can all make a dramatic difference with our own gardens and giving back energy we don't use.  We can make a difference by planting brushes, flowers, and trees.

This prayer should be and can be done a regular basis.
Need:
large, living tree
and magick (as always)

Begin by walking clockwise around the tree 3 times.  Stop and place both palms on the tree's trunk; tune into the tree by breathing in deeply.  Imagine moving your awareness into the trunk, limbs, and leaves of the trees for a few minutes; then breath out.  Do this several times until you have a feeling for the tree's essence.  Now say:

Dear Great Spirit and Mother Earth,
You who are the givers and creators of all life,
I send to you all the love in my heart and soul
I pray you grant me the strength of this tree
Please Great Spirit and Mother Earth, grant me its wisdom and beauty
By the Great Spirit, blessed be!!

Feel your energy merge with that of the tree.  At the moment that this happens, say, "thank you" to the Great Spirit  and to the tree.  As you do, imagine a kinder and more loving world, one where the mother is vibrant and pollution is no longer a threat.  Each of us can help change the future for the better.  Your intention and what you do with it is the key.
